There’s a new-generation of the Volkswagen Crafter on the way to Australia with the new model being officially unveiled in Europe this morning.
In taking the covers off the new model, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles said they had put a great amount of effort into making the new Crafter even more customer-focused.
While ensuring a low cost of ownership and great economy were also top priorities, according to VW.
Under the bonnet of the new model will be a range of Euro 6 compliant engines, including a new “EA 288Nutz” 2.0 litre TDI unit that was developed especially for the new Crafter.
Other power outputs include 102 PS (75kW), 122 PS (90kW) and 140 PS (103kW), plus a bi-turbo TDI with 177 PS (130kW).
While those engines will be bolted to either manual or auto transmissions and drivetrains that include front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (4MOTION).
The Crafter range also being offered in three different lengths and with a choice of up to three different roof heights.
