Twin recall for current series Polaris 2 and 4 seat vehicles…
Some recent purchasers of Polaris vehicles are being urged not to use their vehicle until urgent repairs are carried out.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is overseeing the recalls that affect 2016/17 Polaris 2 seat and 4 seat SxS vehicles.
The engine and brake system recalls both affect Polaris vehicles with VINs starting with 3NSRGE, all the affected Polaris vehicles were sold in Australia between the 1st of January 2016 and the 3rd of March 2017.
The engine fault recall notice advises that the engine of the vehicle could back fire.
What are the hazards?
A back fire can cause a spark which could cause a fire.
While the second recall notice advises that the brake master cylinder may have been contaminated during the manufacturing process, which may cause the front brake seal to swell.
A swollen seal may cause unintended brake drag.
What are the hazards?
Unintended brake drag may result in potential fire or burn hazard.
Known owners will be contacted by mail with further info about both recall, once again the ACCC and Polaris are advising owners of the affected vehicles to use them until the recall work is completed.
Those affected Polaris owners can also contact their nearest Polaris dealer to arrange inspection and repair, at no cost.
While further information is also available from the Polaris Customer Service Department on 03 9394 5610 or the Polaris website.
