A recall of the Can-Am Commander has been initiated after a potentially serious steering fault was identified.
Affecting model year 2013 Can-Am Commander vehicles equipped with Dynamic Power Steering (DPS), the recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Sold nationally by Australian importers BRP, BRP has advised us that:
- Repairs to affected Can-Am Commander vehicles will be completed free of charge from the end of June, when replacement parts become available.
- BRP recommends to avoid driving your vehicle until the final repair is performed. In the meantime, if you must use your vehicle, please contact your BRP Can-Am side-by-side dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle verified.
- This verification is a temporary action to allow limited use of the vehicles until the availability of the solution.
- Following the verification, if you still choose to use your vehicle, be aware that you must respect the following – Do not use at speeds above 50 km/h (30 MPH) and do not ride on rough terrain.
