Fiat Doblo Named Light Van of the Year

Fiat Doblo takes top 2016 What Van? Award.

Fiat Doblo Named Light Van of the Year – the Fiat Doblo was praised for its ride, solid build quality and load carrying ability.

The respected What Van? 2016 Awards have been handed out overnight in the UK with the Fiat Doblo Cargo taking the all-important Light Van of the Year Award.

While other category winners at this year’s awards included the Mitsubishi Triton (L200 in Britain) which won the Light Commercial category, the Iveco Daily is the Large Van of the Year.

The What Van? judges were impressed by the Fiat Doblo Cargos excellent dynamics and comfort, its segment-leading load and volume capacities as well as its solidity, robustness and breadth of range.

The award comes just weeks after the Fiat van was crowned Van of the Year in the VansA2Z awards.

What Van? Editor Paul Barker, says the Fiat Doblo, which is priced from $22,000 in Australia, was a stand-out.

“The FIAT Doblo Cargo’s revamp has propelled it back to the top of the class,”

“The combination of excellent driving dynamics, robust durability and broad range make for a champion light van worthy of recommendation.”

Meantime the Ford Transit has rounded off its 50th year by joining What Van?’s Hall of Fame.

Mr Barker said the Transit is a British icon.

“Its dominance looks as controlled now as at any point in the last 50 years. It’s impossible to not encounter the influence of the Transit van on a daily basis in all walks of life, and this legendary figurehead of British industry, business and society looks set to rule for a long time yet.”
