Record sales for Ford Ranger
There’s no doubt the Ford Ranger has done what many others have tried and failed – match it with the dominant Toyota HiLux.
Always up there snapping at the Toyota’s heals, and sometimes even outselling the HiLux, the Ford continues to be an emotional choice, not just a vehicle designed for a purpose.
That rising popularity has been shown in new sales data released this morning by Ford Australia.
They tell us that across the Asia Pacific region this year, Ford Ranger sales have increased 21% with more than 63,500 customer deliveries.
That’s a new record for the ute/pick-up in the region.
While here at home the Ranger also scored a new sales record across the first half of the year with 21,638 sales, 19% more than the same period last year.
And with some recent improvements made to the model for 2018, Ford boss Graeme Whickman says he’s expecting even more demand for Ranger over the next 12 months.
“Demand for Ford Ranger continues to rise as consumer needs evolve towards a versatile vehicle that can be used for both work and play,”
“The unmatched combination of smart technologies, design, fuel-efficiency and comfort of the Ranger represents everything that our customers look for in a versatile vehicle and we expect demand will continue to rise.”
