F-150 is most searched for vehicle
We might be shivering away in many parts of Australia now, but most of the U.S. is basking in the splendor of summer.
And when it comes to the cars that are on the minds of those suntanned Americans there is one that continues to dominate – the phenomenally successful Ford F-150.
The Ford pick-up, which is the best-selling vehicle in the U.S., has just been named as the ‘Hottest Car for Summer 2017’ by Autotrader.
Based on traffic data from the car sales website, the Ford product has beaten home a list of 8 other domestic vehicles and a Japanese pick-up as the vehicle that has achieved the most online attention from readers over summer.
Chevrolet though had the most vehicles on the list with four, one ahead of their Ford arch-rivals.
Autotrader Hottest Cars of Summer 2017:
- Ford F-150
- Jeep Wrangler
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500
- Ford Mustang
- Ford F-250
- Chevrolet Corvette
- Toyota Tacoma
- Jeep Grand Cherokee
- Chevrolet Silverado 2500
- Chevrolet Tahoe
“Summer has a kind of patriotic, nostalgic feel and it’s a good time to shop for a car.” said Autotrader’s Brian Moody.
“Of course, the trend away from sedans is in full swing with the majority of the most-searched vehicles being trucks and SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler.
“Notable exceptions are performance coupes like the Chevy Corvette and Ford Mustang.”
The news of the Ford F-Series continuing to be on the radar of U.S. buyers comes after it was announced that the Ford F-250 was now available in Australia, while the F-150 also took the title as being the Most Talked About Car so far in 2017.
