Ford Transit Duratorq engine recall

Faulty valves could leave Ford Transit owners stranded.

Ford Transit Duratorq engine recall – a total of 138 Ford Transit vehicles are affected.

A recall of current model Ford Transit vehicles sold in Australia is now underway after a possible engine fault was identified.

The recall involves a total of 138 VN & VO series Ford Transit vehicles fitted with the 2.2L Duratorq diesel engine. All of the affected vehicles were built from September 16, 2014 through to January 8, 2015.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission recall notice says that a small number of fuel injectors fitted to diesel engines may have an incorrectly assembled internal valve.

If the valve fails, it can result in loss of fuel pressure which may lead to an engine stall. If the engine stalls it may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

Ford has written to all affected owners, who are advised to contact their Ford dealership for inspection and rectification.
