There’s another offering in the keenly contested ute market in Australia with Great Wall confirming the first shipment of its new ‘Steed’ ute has arrived.
The Chinese-built ute will be available from next month and will only be offered in dual-cab configuration.
There will be 4×4 diesel, 4×2 diesel and 4×2 petrol variants of the Great Wall Steed available.
At this stage though we aren’t privy to final Australian pricing and specification details, we will bring you those details as soon as they are confirmed by Great Wall Australia.
The boss of that operation, Parker Shi, telling us the Great Wall Steed will make an impact in the local light commercial market.
“We will launch with a three model line-up boasting a rugged new design, high levels of safety, one-tonne payload and very attractive price points for Australian customers.
“All Great Wall Steed utes will come with ESP and six airbags standard, as well as a long list of creature comforts, including cruise control, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning and heated front seats.”
Meantime, Great Wall Motors Australia has confirmed 50 Australian dealerships have committed to the brand and negotiations to extend the brands Australian dealer network are continuing.
