Australia-bound ute shows rough and tough side…

I always tell manufacturers that if you want to get Aussie ute buyers interested in your product then you need to have something with some real grit and plenty of road presence.

Think the Toyota HiLux Tonka – we’ve had more than 16,000 YouTube videos of the beefed-up Toyota in just a couple of weeks.

We love a tough truck and it appears LDV are on the same page.

Coming soon to Australia is the all-new LDV T60 ute and as part of stirring up interest in the new offering, LDV has shown this “outback-ready” version.

The LDV T60 Off Road Concept was shown at the Auto Shanghai event and features a number of modifications, including:

• Heavy-duty front and rear bumpers
• Beefed-up underbody protection (right along the belly of the beast)
• Raised, heavy-duty suspension
• Heavy duty wheel flairs
• Off-road tyres
• Winch
• Spot lights
• Snorkel
• Strengthening beams in tray/engine compartment

We are still a little way off finding out exactly what LDV has planned for the T60 in Australia, in particular whether we will see a variant like the concept.
