Mercedes agrees to three-year deal with AFL team…
Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia has teamed up with the Western Bulldogs AFL team in a sponsorship partnership from next year onwards.
The German brand has signed on as principal partner for the 2018 season in a three year deal, the first partnership with a major sporting club for the maker.
The 2016 premiers will wear the three-pointed star on the back of their jerseys while major sponsor Mission Foods will remain on the chest.
The move will coincide with the launch of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class ute next year.
Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Vans Diane Tarr says the Western Bulldogs club and their brand share similar values.
“Our products and people are known for their reliability, resilience and capability to get the job done. We support people in their business operations and have an unrelenting passion to be the best.
President of the Western Bulldogs Peter Gordon says the alliance is also a first for the club.
“This partnership breaks new ground for the club as our first automotive partner, and we are excited to work closely with such a high calibre global brand which shares similar values and ambitions to the Bulldogs.”
