After more than a century building cars, oh and vans, buses, trucks and SUVs as well, Mercedes-Benz will finally offer a ute in the next couple of years.
It seems a little strange that it has taken Mercedes-Benz this long to come up with the idea of building a ute – their trucks are famous for being strong and dependable and Mercedes-Benz vans are a regular sight on roads around the globe.
In committing to the Mercedes-Benz mid-size pick-up by 2020, Mercedes-Benz Vans boss Volker Mornhinweg said the new offering will meet the expectations customers have for a Mercedes-Benz product.
“We can perfectly serve customers looking for a vehicle that offers a high level of utility and at the same time has the comfort, safety, and design of a Mercedes-Benz passenger car,”
“We will design our brand’s first pickup according to this recipe for success.”
