2WD and 4WD variants found to have potentially dangerous suspension fault.
As many as 20,000 Mitsubishi Triton and Challenger vehicles will be recalled in Australia after it was found an in improper welding on the Front Suspension Lower Control Arms could lead to the driver having trouble controlling the vehicle.
The fault is considered such a serious issue that owners are being asked to drive their Challenger and Triton vehicles with caution until the fault is fixed at a Mitsubishi dealership.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission say that if the weld fails, it will be readily detected by the driver as the vehicle will become unstable, pulling to either left or right side of the road and this potentially poses a hazard to the driver and other road users.
Triton and Challenger models manufactured in 2011 and up to May 2012 are affected, owners are being contacted by mail, or alternatively you can contact your local Mitsubishi dealership to arrange for repairs.
