Renault Trafic recalled over airbag issue

A recall of the current third-generation Renault Trafic is underway after a potentially serious issue with the airbags was identified.

Affecting the X82 series of the Renault Trafic the recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The ACCC recall notice advising that there is a risk of the passenger airbag mounting screws being absent.

There is risk of improper passenger airbag deployment which may potentially increase injury to the passenger during an accident.

Third generation (X82) Renault Trafic owners should contact their nearest Renault dealer to arrange to check for presence of passenger airbag mounting screws.

Renault tell us that any necessary rectification will be carried out free of charge.
