Toyota HiAce Window Glass Recall

Door glass for Toyota HiAce vans recalled over safety concerns.

Toyota HiAce Window Glass Recall – the suspect HiAce door glass was sold by O’Brien Glass and Avanti Windscreens.

Owners of Toyota HiAce vehicles that had the front passenger window glass replaced in recent months are being asked to check whether their vehicle is affected by a recall of aftermarket window glass.

Affecting owners who had the passenger side, front door glass replaced in their Toyota Hiace between the 6th of August and the 28th of September this year, the suspect glass was sold by O’Brien Glass and Avanti Windscreens.

The Toyota HiAce Window Glass recall involves glass manufactured by Xinyi Group (Glass) Co Ltd.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is overseeing the recall. The ACCC safety recall notice advising that if broken, glass may not meet fragmentation requirements of the ECE43 Standard because it will break into larger pieces than the standard requires.

Potential laceration injury if glass breaks.

If you had a passenger side front window replaced in your Toyota HiAce van by the suppliers in August or September, please Veronica at O’Brien on (02) 9795 3300 to arrange for rectification.
