In May 2018 it was the same again, this time Toyota claiming 30% market share with 6,330 sales in the month.

Helping the Japanese brand to another month of leadership was the ever popular HiLux, though arch-rival, Ford’s Ranger, did come close to knocking the Toyota off top spot in 4×4 ute sales.
As the numbers below show, HiLux 4×4 found 3,185 customers, the Ford offering falling just 9 vehicles short.
While the HiAce remained the biggest-selling van in Australia with 669 deliveries.
Stepping up to the larger vans, those categorized among the heavy-duty vehicles, VFACTS data shows the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 367 sales was the dominant player, ahead of Fiat Ducato (102), Ford Transit Heavy (88), Iveco Daily (22), Renault Master (128) and Volkswagen Crafter (53).
