Volkswagen Amarok brake fault recall

More than 1600 Volkswagen Amarok utes recalled.

Volkswagen Amarok brake fault recall – a potential issue with the front brake calipers has been identified in MY15 Volkswagen Amarok.

A Volkswagen Amarok recall is underway after potential problems with the popular utes front brakes were identified.

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the official recall notice for the model year 2015 Volkswagen Amarok recall says that a total of 1611 vehicles sold in Australia are affected.

On certain Volkswagen Amarok vehicles the bolts for the front brake calipers may not have been tightened with the specified torque.

If bolt tension is lost, the loose brake caliper makes noises, damages the wheel and under very unfavourable circumstances the caliper can cause a wheel to lock up which could cause a loss of control and possibly an accident.

A letter is being sent to affected Volkswagen Amarok owners and more information is available from Volkswagen Authorised Service Centres or Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 504 076.
