Volkswagen Caddy recall

ACCC oversees recall to fix potentially faulty tail-gate.

The ACCC say the fault could lead to injury.

Volkswagen Caddy owners will be asked to return their vehicles to a VW service centre to fix a potential fault with the operation of the tail-gate.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission say that on some Caddy vehicles the attachments of the ball pin for the gas pressure spring on the D pillar can loosen. It cannot be ruled out that the ball pin will subsequently tear off because of the increased strain.

If the defect occurs, the boot lid can drop down unexpectedly and may pose an injury risk.

A letter is being sent to affected owners, more information is also available from Volkswagen Authorised Service Centres or you can contact Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 607 822.
