We already reported that the Volkswagen brand enjoyed record sales in October, making a big contribution to that result was the strong performance of the commercial vehicle division.
Sales data just to hand shows global Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle sales in October were up 7.1% over the same month in 2016.

In total, more than 43,000 vehicles were delivered by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the month.
Driving much of the growth in October 2017 was the new Crafter – the model contributed better than a 24% sales increase over its October 2016 total.
While across the first ten months of 2017 total sales hit 410,900 vehicles worldwide, a total a full 5.1% up on the same period last year.
As the figures below show, Amarok has been the star performer through 2017.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles – Jan to Oct 17 Sales (by model):
- T-model range – 170,100 (+4.3%)
- Caddy range – 137,800 (+4.8%)
- Amarok – 65,200 (+13.2%)
- Crafter – 37,800 (-2.5%)
In Australia, VFACTS data for October shows Aussie commercial vehicle buyers were particularly keen on the 4×4 version of the Amarok (+71.2%), Caddy enjoyed a 54.5% lift in sales, and Caddy Van sales were up 7.2%.
Amarok 4×2 (-7.4%), Crafter (-44.7%), Multivan (-10.1%) and Transporter (-8.6%) all lost some ground.
