The current series Volkswagen T6, including Transporter, Multivan and Caravelle variants, is being recalled after it was found that the vehicles could have a potentially dangerous airbag fault.
The Volkswagen T6 recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects only MY16 models of the Volkswagen commercial vehicles.
The ACCC recall notice advising that in the event of an accident the front left side airbag may not deploy correctly because of an incorrectly folded airbag.
The effectiveness of the front left side airbag may be reduced which may increase the risk of injury to the occupants of the front passenger seat in the event of a collision.
A letter is being sent to affected Australian owners of the vehicles.
Further information is also available from local Volkswagen Authorised Service Centres or from Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 504 076.
