Isuzu Ute picks up Best Workhorse Award…again!
The Isuzu D-MAX ute has won the UK’s Best Workhorse Pick-Up award for the fourth consecutive year.
The Trade Van Driver Awards are announced annually at the Commercial Vehicle (CV) Show.
The 2017 Isuzu D-MAX, fresh from a significant overhaul (details here), was again found to be the best vehicle for the rough and tough stuff buy the Trade Van Driver Awards judges.
“A hardworking, gutsy performer, the Isuzu D-MAX offers robustness, as well as class, plus incredibly low cost of ownership figures.”
Interestingly, the UK version of the D-MAX differs slightly from the Australian-spec version in that the model there comes with the choice of a Euro 6 compliant 1.9 litre turbo-diesel engine, or 2.5 litre turbo-diesel.
Both engines produce 120kW, however the larger capacity engine brings 400Nm, as opposed to the 1.9 litre’s 360Nm.
Locally, Isuzu Ute introduced a new 3.0 litre turbo-diesel to the Australian model that delivers 130kW/430Nm.
Interestingly, both smaller engine UK variants still boast the same 1-tonne payload and 3.5 tonne towing capacity of the more powerful Australian version.
William Brown from Isuzu Ute UK welcomed the award.
“To be recognised in the Trade Van Driver Awards once again is a great honour and is testament to the quality of the new generation-D-Max.”
