Another 5.0% jump in global sales
Volkswagen’s Commercial Vehicle division continues to go from strength to strength with the latest sales data showing another 5.0% lift in global demand.
That increase related to June 2017 with just a touch under 250,000 new VW commercials being delivered to customers.
Three out of the four Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the range have seen sales move north so far this year.
As the numbers below show, only Crafter is in the negative and that’s mostly due to customers waiting for the all-new model to arrive.
The new Volkswagen Crafter comes with some big accolades – it was recently named 2017 Van of the Year and was earlier crowned the 2017 International Van of the Year.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles First-Half 2017 Sales:
- T model range – 105,000 (+4.9%)
- Caddy – 85,700 (+8.6%)
- Amarok – 37,700 (+5.5%)
- Crafter – 21,400 (-7.7%)
The data shows sales were up in June in the car companies home market, Germany, by 2.8%.
The brand also achieved growth in deliveries made in Italy (+15.5%), France (+12.2%) and Spain (+8.5%).
Mexico was also up an amazing 55.0% and across our region, the Asia-Pacific, VW Commercial Vehicles enjoyed a healthy 12.9% jump.
Here in Australia, VFACTS data for June showed strong increases for Amarok 4×2 (+4.3%) and 4×4 (+11.0%).
While Caddy sales jumped ahead 30.8% and 17.2% for the Caddy Van.
Crafter and Multivan sales were flat in June, however the Transporter lifted local deliveries by 6.4% with exactly 300 vehicles handed over to Aussie customers in the month.
