Holden reaffirms improved Colorado manners in new model

New Holden Colorado available in Australia from next month

Holden is gearing up to release the 2017 Holden Colorado next month and have again reassured buyers that the new model will be significantly better than the model it replaces.

As the sales data shows, Colorado has achieved respectable sales, however the model has never really been able to put too much pressure on the likes of the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger.

One reason, we believe, is that the Holden ute has just never quite been as enjoyable to drive as those rivals.

But, in confirming the model would be in dealerships in September, Holden today telling us its engineers are confident the new vehicle will meet the expectations of Australian buyers.

Holden’s Lead Development Engineer, Amelinda Watt, telling behindthewheel.com.au that the new Colorado has had significant tweaking by her team.

“The variety of roads in Australia and the variety of ways in which Australians use trucks means the 2017 Colorado has to be versatile enough to handle everything thrown at it,”

“We know customers like to drive their Colorado off-road or on unsealed roads, but we also know they spend a lot of time on the bitumen.

“We’ve focused on improving refinement and driveability with a range of chassis changes, including electric power steering as well as engine and transmission noise and vibration refinements.”

Holden is expected to confirm Australian pricing and specification details for the new Colorado in coming weeks, we will keep you updated.
