They might have only two models available in Australia, however Isuzu Ute (IUA) is finding a rapidly increasing local customer base.
The Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV enjoyed significant sales increases in 2016 as more Australian’s decided to shift from ‘mainstream’ brands to give Isuzu a go.
IUA delivered 23,377 vehicles in Australia last year, a significant 11.4% increase on their 2015 total.
Three years ago the brand’s total was just over 10,000 vehicles!
It was the 4×2 version of the Isuzu D-MAX that enjoyed the greatest sales growth – 50.9% in 2016.
The 4×4 version increased deliveries by 0.2% with a respectable 11,321 sales.
The seven-seat SUV, the MU-X, managed to attract 7,018 customers, a total that represents a 10.6% jump on the 2015 total.
While Isuzu Ute finished 2016 in style with Australian sales increases of 27.6%.
IUA Managing Director & CEO, Yasuhiro (Yasu) Takeuchi thanked Australian ute and SUV buyers for their support of the brand.
“For eight years straight now we have posted significant growth – which is no easy feat when you’re competing in the market’s most competitive segments – a testament to the hard work of our dealer network and staff.
“We have some exciting developments planned for both the business and our products – that will enhance our existing customer’s experience and attract new buyers to our brand – so I’m confident we will continue to prosper in 2017.”
