Kia Australia boss Damien Meredith says he would love to have Kia light commercial vehicles (LCV) to offer Australian buyers.
The only issue is that the brand doesn’t have access to any pick-ups or vans at the moment and that situation doesn’t look like changing at any point in the near future, according to the Kia Australia Chief Operating Officer.
“We would love to have them (light commercial vehicles), however there is nothing on the horizon.”
That was the response we got when quizzed on the issue at a Q and A session with the Kia boss in Sydney today.
Kia has previously offered the now discontinued Kia Pregio van (pictured) and the K-Series pick-up in Australia and there have been rumours of a new Hyundai/Kia pick-up coming out of a new production plant in Thailand.
At this stage though it looks like it will be a long wait before Kia will be able to expand its Australian range to again include LCVs.
