Surfer new ute ambassador
The Mercedes-Benz X-Class generated a whole heap of chatter and publicity when it was officially unveiled last month.
Now comes news the luxury German brands first-ever ute/pick-up will be associated with surfing legend, Mick Fanning.
Announced as a brand ambassador for the Mercedes-Benz X-Class today by Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia, Mick tells us he can’t wait to throw his board in the back.
“Sitting in the X-Class for the first time was a real thrill.
“As soon as I saw it I thought it has the style and design of a Mercedes-Benz and the power and versatility that I want in a vehicle.”
“I have a very active lifestyle and as a surfer it’s pretty natural to have an interest in the ocean and the environment.
“I can’t wait to take it down the beach.”
The Mercedes-Benz X-Class will launch in Australia in April next year and local boss of Mercedes-Benz Vans, Diane Tarr, says the brand is excited about having the surfing champ on deck.
“Mick perfectly embodies the Australian lifestyle that the ute has been designed for.
“The X-Class has been designed with the Australian landscape in mind so it can take you wherever the waves are, without compromise and with all the gear you need.”
