The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has just issued a recall notice for thousands of Mitsubishi Triton vehicles.
The vehicles are being recalled as part of the mammoth Takata Airbag Recalls and affects more than 57,000 Triton vehicles sold in Australia.
Those vehicles include ML & MN series Mitsubishi Triton utes covering the model years 2007-14.
The ACCC recall notice advising that the driver’s side airbag inflator may release metallic fragments from the inflator container when the airbag deploys.
What are the hazards?
In the event of an incident that deploys the drivers’ side airbag, the airbag inflator may release metallic fragments and these metallic fragments may injure the vehicle occupants.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail as soon as parts become available to present their vehicle to their preferred Mitsubishi Motors Dealer for inspection/replacement of the Driver Side airbag inflator at no charge.
