Sydney Build Expo – Isuzu Brings Power to the Pedal for Trades at Sydney Build ’24. As strong demand for construction and related trades continues across Australia, those in the industry are also facing significant challenges in high operational costs and an ongoing skilled labour shortage.
Respondents to the latest Future of Trucking Report indicated two key methods of reducing high operational costs: running fuel efficient vehicles and making the move to trucks with pre-built bodies which saves on price as well as downtime at body builders.
Operational efficiency will be a chief concern for many operators, and with this mind, the Sydney Build Expo and Festival of Construction could not come at a better time to display key products and ideas to navigate the elevated climate and assist in building business resilience for the future.
Running over May 1–2 at the ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre and now in its eighth year, the exhibition attracts key contributors and equipment manufacturers from across a gamut of construction-related fields.
Back for a third consecutive year at Sydney Build Expo, Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is bringing a showcase of Ready-to-Work Isuzu Trucks and Isuzu Power Solutions (IPS), along with the experts to demonstrate and offer advice on its popular range of products.
Efficiency gains
“The cost of doing business is at an all-time high, so we know businesses are looking at ways to strategise and streamline their operation,” noted IAL Head of Sales, Craig White.
“And within this, the value that capital equipment can bring to the table should, as always, be closely scrutinised.”
Isuzu’s Ready-to-Work truck range, pre-built for a wide variety of trade and construction applications, will be front and centre on the stand at this year’s Sydney Build Expo.
The Ready-to-Work range with Tipper, Tradepack, Traypack, Servicepack and Freightpack variants, comes packed with large payloads, multiple wheelbase options and generous towing capacity across the range with trade-specific features unique to each model.
Trucks on show Sydney Build Expo
On show will be the medium-duty FRR 110-240 AMT Tipper, as a staple favourite of the construction industry with a durable all-steel body, 11,000 kg GVM and huge payload of over 6,000 kg (110-240 Tipper model).
Powered by Isuzu’s N-4HK1-TCH diesel engine, the FRR 110-240 AMT Tipper has 177 kW of power (240 PS) @ 2,400 rpm and 765 Nm of torque @ 1,600 rpm, providing all the grunt needed to haul materials to and from the job site.
The Ready-to-Work NPR 45/55-155 Tradepack will also be at the expo, presenting another case for the suitability of Isuzu product for the purpose of trade.
The NPR Tradepack comes in a 4,500 kg GVM variant suitable to be driven on a standard Australian car licence, and a medium-duty 5,500 kg GVM for trades requiring extra payload.
With an aluminium body construction making for a lighter tare weight without compromising on body integrity, the Tradepack’s signature features include practical ladder racks, large tray space, and removeable drop sides and tailgate, all of which Isuzu will be happy to demonstrate to showgoers on the day.
Ready to Work
“Our Ready-to-Work trucks offer operators a turnkey solution, reducing potential wait times on custom-built truck bodies and offering great value in a tool that’s simply ready to tackle trade,” said Mr White.
“But the value in owning an Isuzu truck doesn’t stop there, extending to how it can support the business in the future, help a tradie take on more jobs or different types of work—which can be an important consideration in long-term planning and industry competitiveness.
“All Isuzu trucks are backed by an incredible aftersales package including a six-year warranty on the cab chassis and three-year warranty on bodies, plus the support of our extensive national dealer network—which you just can’t put a price on,” added Mr White.
Power house
Following in the theme of building strong foundations for the future, Isuzu Power Solutions will be showing the IPS GS 037-PTY Generator Set and a pre-assembled 4LE2 Power Unit rated at 39.1 kW (52.4 hp) @ 3,000 rpm—both having proved popular units in construction and trade uses.
All IPS generator sets feature all-weather canopies constructed from thick gauge steel with a powder coated finish; a must in external environmental conditions where dust and grit are ever-present, along with being able to cope with the tough Australian climate.
Another quality-of-life consideration is Isuzu’s sound suppressant technology and acoustic insulation, which can help to reduce overall noise pollution on worksites.
Available in 20 kVA, 37 kVA and 50 kVA variants, IPS Generator Sets are designed to balance high and low frequencies, equating to a reduced sound output of 51 decibels at seven metres (in 20 kVA and 37 kVA models), which is quieter than an average conversation.
“We’re raring to show how IPS engines and Generator Sets can be configured to remote applications, such as powering demountable buildings, lighting and tools on site, and also their capability for mobile use, such as in the tray of a truck,” said Mr White.
“Whether it’s a truck or power solution, Isuzu Australia is committed to providing the right equipment for industry and operators across the board.
“Our experts are ready to answer any question about the Isuzu Trucks and IPS product range—we can’t wait to see you at the Sydney Build Expo this year,” concluded Mr White.
