Toyota has made some tweaks to the 3.0 litre turbo-diesel engine fitted to the Toyota HiAce, the end result being better fuel efficiency and fewer emissions.
Recalibrated to meet Euro 5 emissions standards, the tweaks included the introduction of a diesel particulate filter with manual and automatic regeneration.
The end result is an engine that uses up to 4.6% less fuel.
While another change being introduced to the Toyota HiAce range for 2017 is the choice of a left-side window or steel panel on the white automatic LWB (Long Wheel Base) diesel van.
Toyota telling us this new option came on the back of feedback from dealerships who reported that many owners appreciated the added visibility offered by the left-side window.
However, there are also HiAce buyers who expressed a preference for the security and privacy offered by a steel panel.
Toyota saying both sets of buyers are now catered for.
Finally, Toyota has also confirmed some minor price rises for the HiAce range.
Prices are increasing by 2.0% for vans and 3.8% for buses, Toyota telling us the weak Australian dollar and rising value of the Japanese Yen being to blame.
