From the humblest of beginnings, Isuzu UTE has grown to be one of the major players in the Australian car industry.
This month marks the tenth anniversary of the commencement of Isuzu sales in Australia, the brand growing from a single product, the D-MAX, to now also having the MU-X SUV.
While the range is no where near as comprehensive as many of its more-fancied opponents, Isuzu well and truly holds its own in the sales race.
For example, VFACTS data from September 2018 shows the brand sold more vehicles overall than BMW, Audi, Jeep, Land Rover, Jaguar and Volvo in the month.
Isuzu also sold more utes in the Aussie market last month than Great Wall, LDV, Holden and Mazda!
In the operations first year they sold just a couple of hundred units, in 2017 the brand handed over nearly 26,000 vehicles to Aussie customers.
Commenting on the ten-year anniversary, IUA Managing Director, Mr. Hiro Kuramoto, says it has been an incredible journey in Australia.
“There are too many significant achievements to mention,”
“The highlights have been many, and we continue to be humbled by the Australian response to our products.
“Since launch, our products have been endorsed with a number of awards, and the positive feedback from customers continues to confirm that we deliver honest, reliable products.”
Where to from here? Isuzu UTE tell us they’re focusing on a goal of 30,000 annual sales by 2020.
