The French auto manufacturers Peugeot/Citroen have taken the covers off their new-generation van today.
To be badged as the Citroen Berlingo and the Peugeot Partner, the new van moves into a third-generation for the LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) since it was first launched in 1996.
In Australia the van has traditionally been sold under the Citroen banner and that looks set to continue into the future.

Citroen tell us the new-gen van, which is built on an all-new platform, is about to hit showrooms in Europe with the order books already open there.
We are likely to see the new van in Australia early next year.
There will be two different sizes available in the new-gen van – M and XL, as well as two configurations – ‘Worker and ‘Driver’.
Citroen also confirming that the new van will be offered in Extenso Cab or Crew Cab.
One welcome addition is an increase in rear cargo space over the superseded model.
Peugeot/Citroen confirming the new van retains its 1.23 metre width between the wheel arches (1.23 m) and increases minimum load volume to 3.3 m3 (standard) and to 4.4 m3 in Size XL.
While the one-tonne van will also boast an overload indicator as standard.
The system informs the driver when they approach or exceed the authorised weight limit.
Interestingly, the Peugeot version is gaining what’s called the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit.
Seen in Australia in vehicles like the new Peugeot 5008 SUV, the i-Cockpit is essentially a small steering wheel and driver-focused controls.
The below image of the Citroen version appears though to show a more traditional driver cockpit.
Under the bonnet will be a choice of two engines – the BlueHDi 1.5 diesel or the PureTech 1.2 petrol.
There won’t be a manual transmission available, all will come standard with an eight-speed auto.
While other tech coming to the 2019 Citroen Berlingo will include a ‘birds-eye’ type surround view camera system, head-up display, electric park brake, Adaptive Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also on deck in the new offering.
