Renault UK is now offering their Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automatic transmission as an option in Renault Kangoo.
For the first time, the six-speed EDC is now available in the diesel Kangoo dCi 90 and dCi 110 models since the beginning of the month, coming in line with the rest of the Renault car model range.

The EDC’s electronic control unit is capable of ultrafast shifts of 290ms and comes with Hill Start Assist and creep control for easier starts off the line whether crawling in traffic or off an incline.
Also fitted with an ECO mode, the Kangoo can cut fuel use by 10% and is capable of a fuel economy of 19.6km per litre, and 136g/km of CO2 emissions.
Earlier in the year, Renault Australia launched a 1.2 litre turbo petrol version of the Kangoo coupled with an EDC transmission.
There’s a strong possibility the EDC will be included on Australian diesel models from next year but no official word yet on when it will arrive, so watch this space.
