New drive-train for Citroen Berlingo features start-stop technology.
Citroen has introduced a first for the Australian Light Commercial Vehicle market – a diesel engine with a stop-start system.
As part of the new engine and semi-automatic transmission combo being introduced to the 2015 Citroen Berlingo range, the updated powertrain helps save one litre of fuel per 100kms, compared to the similarly specified manual version.
The new six-speed semi-auto gearbox also comes with paddle-shifters and an automatic mode too.
Known as the Berlingo ETG, the vans fitted with the new engine/transmission combo also come with Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist.
Citroen Australia National Sales Manager, Shaun Mackle said the updates to Berlingo ETG should be popular amongst LCV buyers and operators.
“The addition of the new Citroen Berlingo drive-train tackles issues that are at the heart of all businesses, safety and running costs,”
“Being the first in its class with stop-start technology is testament to our commitment to Australian business operators and the growing number of Berlingo customers.”
The Citroen Berlingo ETG is priced from $28,990 drive-away until the end of December.
