SsangYong Musso – he new team at SsangYong Australia are feeling confident Aussie ute buyers will give the new Musso a positive reception.
As reported here, SsangYong recently unveiled the new-gen Musso in the UK.
We knew it was likely to be Australia-bound after Great Wall Motors/Haval marketing chief, Tim Smith, confirmed he was heading up the team at SsangYong Australia.
Now it’s been confirmed that Great Wall/Haval PR man, Andrew Ellis, has also joined the team.
SsangYong Australia today confirming it isn’t just the Musso that’s coming our way, the dual cab ute will also be joined by the Rexton (which shares the same platform as Musso) and Tivoli SUVs in local showrooms.
When will they be here? A little later in the year.

Some of the plusses that SsangYong is talking up with the new Musso is the ability to carry a full-sized Euro pallet in the rear.
There’s also a one-tonne payload, 6.7-tonne GCM and 2,800kg towing capacity (manual)/3,000kg (auto).
Under the bonnet is a Euro6 compliant 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine producing 133kW (at 4,000 rpm) and 400Nm from 1,400 rpm.
Transmission choice offered to buyers of the 2019 SsangYong Musso will be six-speed manual or six-speed automatic (manufactured by Aisin).
The Musso gets part-time 4×4 with low-range gearing, hill descent control, and 215mm of ground clearance.
While interior features will include Digital Radio, tilt and reach steering adjustment, cruise control, power windows, and Bluetooth.
Only higher spec models will have Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a reverse camera.
The top-spec model, the ‘Ultimate’ will come with a surround camera system too.
