The Australian light commercial vehicle market will soon include a new generation model of the Volkswagen Caddy.

Unveiled this morning in Germany, the new fourth-generation Volkswagen Caddy sports refreshed looks, new safety features, an upgraded cabin and the latest Volkswagen four-cylinder diesel engines.

Those new safety features include a city emergency braking system that automatically applies the brakes when under 30km/h if an obstacle is detected. While the passenger carrying variant known as the Caddy Life, will be offered with side and curtain air-bags.

Adaptive cruise control also comes to the new VW Caddy, while a new ‘Driver Alert’ system will monitor driving behaviour and can recommend the driver take a break if necessary!

Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler, Member of the Board for Technical Development of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, says the next-generation Caddy will be the best ever.

“To achieve this, we have incorporated a large number of driver assistance systems, which are unmatched in the urban delivery van segment.”
