There’s a revolution happening in the small tipper market with Iveco introducing the new Iveco Daily Cab Three Way Tipper.

Not only do operators get the advantage of being able to tip the body on the Iveco Truck three ways (rear and left and right), this truck comes ready for work, everything is fitted and ready to go when you drive it out of an Iveco dealership.

The tray is able to take a payload of up to 1500kg and features a full headboard and galvanized steel locks to enable operators to tie-down loads.

The two side gates and rear tailgates all fold down as well, enabling forklift loading.

Versatility is the word when it comes to this Iveco tipper.

Perfect for councils, nurseries and any other operators that would benefit from the versatility of three-way tipping, this Iveco truck is also extremely easy to drive and requires only a car license.

A further benefit is a generous 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

Iveco Trucks provided Behind the Wheel Truck News with a three-way tipper to test drive and I must say I was extremely impressed by not only how easy this truck was to drive, but how enjoyable too.

The 3.0 litre diesel engine provides 125kW and 430Nm and while those figures might not seem too substantial, acceleration, even in eco mode is very impressive.

True, I didn’t drive with a full load, but empty this Iveco gets off the line and tackles hills with aplomb.

Remarkably, I averaged just 12.8L/100km in my time driving the Iveco Daily in city/suburban traffic and that means a full 100 litre tank should get you a range well over 800km.

The automatic transmission is smooth too, and shifts down at just the right times to help you slow the Iveco with just the compression of the engine.

The ride, also quite impressive and this is helped even more by the ISRI truck seat for the driver.

Underneath the passenger seats, which are also quite comfortable, is a huge storage area.

Speaking of storage spots, there’s a whole heap of clever storage areas around the cabin.

Brakes are impressive, four-wheel disc all-round and a handy toolbox comes fitted under the tray on the passenger side of the vehicle.

While to assist the easy nature of the Iveco Daily you get sat-nav and touch screen infotainment as well.

The cabin is probably let down in a couple of spots by some plastics that are a little sub-par (and reminiscent of the Fiat Punto which comes from the same family).

On the plus side, Iveco is throwing in a $2,500 genuine accessories pack.

This includes the polished alloy nudge bar, a 3.5t rated tow bar kit, bonnet and head lamp protectors and floor mats.

Perhaps the only thing this truck is missing is a reverse camera! Hey, wouldn’t you believe it, a reverse camera is available as an option.

But as easy and for want of a better term ‘fun’ as this truck is, the real highlight is the tipping body.

The tipping body is controlled easily via a hand-held remote, and the raise time to a full tilt is only 25 seconds.

To control which way the tray tips you simple move the easy to locate and operate pins found under the tray.

Summing it up; Iveco has brought an easy to drive and ready to work three-way tipper to the market that needs to be a ‘must test’ proposition for public and private operators.
