A Euro 5 diesel will be available in the updated 2018 Mahindra Genio ute with a handful of added features.
Engine specs stay the same as before; a 2.2 litre turbo diesel at 88kW/280Nm tied to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Aside from lower emissions, the Genio has an improved fuel economy of 7.5L/100km for the Single Cab and a claimed range of 900km out of the 74 litre tank.
Priced from $21,990 for the 4×2 Single Cab and $25,490 for the 4×2 Dual Cab, Mahindra have done away with a 4×4 option.
The ute has a payload of 1.2 tonnes and a 1.8 tonne braked tow capacity, a 3 Year/100,000km warranty with 3 Year free roadside assist and 3 Year capped price servicing.

A number of factory options are also available for the Genio; alloy wheels in black or silver trim; alloy bull bar, nudge bar, & steel tow bar; and a Tradie Pack consisting of Bluetooth hands free phone kit with dual USB charging socket.
