Fiat Ducato Ignition Switch Recall – there are concerns the ignition switch in the Ducato might move out of the ‘run’ position.

The Fiat Ducato van is being recalled in Australia to fix a potentially serious fault in the ignition switch.

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Fiat Ducato Ignition Switch recall was initiated after it was found there is a risk that the ignition switch may move out of the run position.

Serious safety concerns have been raised in the operation of the Fiat Ducato ignition switch.

The ACCC recall notice saying that this would result in a partial loss of electrical power and the turning off the engine which can disable the power steering, power brakes and stop the air-bags from inflating during a crash.

This may cause injury to driver and/or other road users by potentially causing people to lose control of their vehicles and may cause serious injuries or death.

Fiat Chrysler Australia (FCA) will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Fiat Professional dealership to have their vehicle repaired.
