Ford van and pick-up sales skip ahead in May

It’s already the world’s best-selling vehicle and now US buyers are grabbing the keys to a new Ford F-Series pick-up at an even greater rate.

Ford van and pick-up sales skip ahead in MayMay 2016 US car sales data shows Ford F-Series pickups posted a 9% gain the month with a total of 67,412 deliveries.

Year to date, Ford F-Series sales have increased 7% with US dealerships delivering a 324,307 units!

While Ford van sales reached their best May sales since 1978, this was primarily on the back of a 16% increase in deliveries of the Ford Transit.

Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service said the results were warmyly welcomed.

“Customers are showing how much they value the fuel economy, towing capability and technology we offer in our trucks with Ford F-Series sales producing another strong gain in May,”

“With strong demand for pick-ups, vans and SUVs, Ford brand saw average prices grow almost $1,500 per vehicle in May – about 50 percent higher than the industry.”
