LDV T60 arrives in Australia

Chinese ute comes downunder

Van maker LDV has launched their first ute in Australia, the LDV T60 dual cab.

With the goal of tapping into the ute market, the Chinese maker has expanded their range of vans to include the 4×4 turbo diesel T60 ute.

LDV says they are offering advanced design, performance and ability, safety and value for money with their attractively priced offering.

A reduced price will be offered to ABN holders, but non-tradesmen will also benefit with competitive driveaway prices as listed below.

LDV T60 pricing:

  • $30,516 ($28,990) PRO manual
  • $32,621 ($30,990) PRO automatic
  • $34,726 ($32,990) LUXE manual
  • $36,831 ($34,990) LUXE automatic

The drivetrain will consist of a 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine and a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission and be available in two variants – PRO and LUXE.

The LUXE version boasts suspension tuned for recreational use as opposed to a more hard-wearing setup as well as a polished chrome sports bar instead of a multi-bar headboard.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10” touchscreen, blind spot warning, tyre pressure monitor, alloy wheels, side step and roof rails are all standard.

General Manager of LDV Automotive Dinesh Chinnappa says LDV aims to capitalise on the growing popularity of utes and branch out from vans.

“As a van brand, our business was largely limited to metropolitan areas, where the vast majority of vans are sold and used.”

“With the LDV T60 we are moving into the fastest growing sector in the market and one that covers the whole country, and one that routinely provides the number one bestselling vehicle in Australia.”

The LDV T60 dual cab ute goes on sale around the nation on October 1.
