Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van Fuel Line Recall

Small number of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans recalled.

Owners of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans are being asked to return their van to a dealership to have fuel injector lines replaced.

Affecting just 38 vehicles sold in Australia, those affected vans were sold between the 1st of October 2015 and the 30th November 2015 with the recall being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

The ACCC recall notice advising that the high pressure fuel injector lines may not have been manufactured to specification.

This could lead to the formation of cracks in the fuel lines and subsequently result in fuel leakage. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may potentially lead to a fire.

Letters will be sent to owners of affected Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans with information about returning the vehicles to authorized dealerships to have the recall rectification work carried out, free of charge.
