Mitsubishi Triton Genuine Tow-Bar Recall – the genuine Mitsubishi Triton tow-bar carries a specifications sticker with possibly incorrect info printed on it.

Two weeks after a recall involving the Mitsubishi genuine parts tonneau cover was announced, another Mitsubishi genuine accessory offered for the Triton is the subject of a recall.

This time buyers of MY16 Mitsubishi Triton utes who opted to have a Genuine Accessory tow-bar fitted are being asked to return their vehicle to have an information label, affixed to the tow-bar, changed.

The tow-bar recall affects current model Mitsubishi Triton vehicles only.

Affecting vehicles sold from the 1st of May this year until the 30th of September, the Mitsubishi Triton Genuine Tow-Bar Recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

The ACCC recall notice saying that the Compliance Label does not comply with the marking requirements in either ADR 62/02 or AS4177.1. Specifically the towing loads do not match the specifications for 16MY MQ Triton.

The consumer may exceed the specified towing loads specified in the Owner’s Manual, posing a potential traffic hazard.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and request they present their vehicle to their preferred Mitsubishi Motors Dealer for rectification at no charge.
