Chinese brands open new Melbourne office

HAVAL and Great Wall Motors say they’re here for the long run after moving into new Australian headquarters in Melbourne today.

The brands, which are targeting the booming SUV market (HAVAL), as well as Aussie ute buyers (Great Wall), are settling into a much larger new office in Mulgrave, in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs.

HAVAL boss Koma Li tells us the new offices will house operations of the two brands in Australia and New Zealand.

“Moving into newer, bigger offices was the next logical step for HAVAL as we continue to establish our presence here,”

“When we opened our doors in October 2015, we had four dealers and a dozen staff in our Melbourne office.

“Today we have 26 staff, 16 HAVAL dealers, 38 Great Wall dealers and we have established a national parts distribution centre.

“The future is very bright for the brand, with new product arriving soon including the updated H9 and the exciting new H7.”
