It’s unlikely that we will see this new-generation SsangYong Musso in Australia, at the moment there isn’t a local distributor for the South Korean brand.
That seems a shame as I always thought the Musso (which means rhinoceros in Korean) was a better than decent offering (reviewed here in ‘Actyon’ guise back in 2012) and this new one looks to have some decent credentials.

Confirmed for a public debut at an upcoming commercial vehicle show in the UK, the 2018 SsangYong Musso will be available in that market, and others, around the middle of the year.
The new-generation SsangYong Musso boasts:
- Space for a full-sized Euro pallet
- Over 1-tonne load capacity weight
- 3.5 tonne towing capacity
- 133kW/420Nm 2.2 litre Euro VI diesel engine
- 6-speed manual or Aisin 6-speed automatic
- Nappa leather seats (in top-spec model)
- DAB radio
- Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
Like the previous generation models available in Australia, the new-gen model will come standard with dual-range selectable 4×4.
While interior comfort has been lifted significantly according to SsangYong with a completely new design that “brings a level of refinement and contemporary ambiance that’s more akin to a premium SUV”.
