Dr Harald Ludanek new boss of VW Technical Development.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will welcome Dr Harald Ludanek as the brand new Board Member for Technical Development.
Moving over from the Volkswagen-owned Scania Trucks where he has held several positions, including Head of Research and Development, Ludanek succeeds Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler who will now head-up Quality Assurance in the Volkswagen Group.
Holding a PhD in mechanical engineering and a 20+ year veteran at Volkswagen, Dr Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said the 57-year old Dr Ludanek is the right man for the job.
“We are delighted to have gained another experienced expert for this division in the person of Dr Harald Ludanek.
“He will be responsible for the continuing development of our brand, our models and hence for a coherent strategic approach to automotive issues of the future. These include electric mobility, autonomous driving and the intelligent networking of different means of transport.”
