Nudge bar fastener issue for Navara and Pathfinder vehicles

Australian owners of Nissan Navara utes and Pathfinder SUVs who ticked the box for a genuine accessory nudge bar are being contacted by Nissan Australia regarding a recall.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects Nissan D23 Navara (2014-17) and R52 Pathfinder (Series 1 – 2013-17) models.

The recall notice advises that due to insufficient bolt torque, the nudge bar roll hoop fixing bolts may come loose causing the roll hoop to rattle and in rare instances, may detach from the vehicle.

If the bolted connections become detached or the components fail, the nudge bar may detach from the vehicle, posing an accident risk to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should owners do?

Once parts availability is confirmed, Nissan will contact owners of affected vehicles at their last known address, with instructions to contact a Nissan dealership to arrange for the nudge bar to be reworked free of charge.
