Solid month for Light Commercial Vehicle sales in July

July result sees 8.5% increase in commercial vehicle sales in Australia

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) market remains buoyant with VFACTS data showing the nations dealerships delivered 16,874 LCVs in July 2016.

That figure was 8.5% up on the July 2015 total of 15,554.

The growth was fueled by increased demand from Rentals (+56.1%), Business (+25.4%) and Government purchasers (+2.5%).

The number of private purchasers of LCVs in July receded 17.4%.

July 2016 LCV Sales Data Key Points:

Across the first full seven months of the year LCVs have been leaving dealerships at a rate 9.7% higher than last year.

The growth in July driven by an 8.7% in light van sales, 4×2 utes increased by 10.8% and Australia’s hunger for 4×4 utes led to another 9.7% jump in deliveries.

The only soar note was a 0.7% reduction in sales of vans in the 2.5-3.5 tonne category.
