Volkswagen has announced it will offer the 2017 Volkswagen Amarok with a V6 diesel engine.
Set to arrive in Australian Volkswagen dealerships later in the year, Volkswagen tell us the new-generation 3.0 litre V6 engine will offer a hefty 550Nm, while Volkswagen will tune the engine for three power outputs; 120kW, 150kW and 165kW.
Being introduced in the new-generation Amarok, Volkswagen Australia hasn’t confirmed final engine specifications for Australia.
What we do know though is that the V6 Amarok will come with a choice of three drivetrains;
- Rear-wheel drive
- 4MOTION with either rear-wheel drive and an engageable front axle in combination with a manual gearbox
- 4MOTION with a permanent all-wheel drive system and a Torsen differential with an 8-speed automatic gearbox
Updated brakes, new external styling and a more comfortable interior are also being promised.
