Volkswagen T-Series continues to boom – Volkswagen Amarok sales continue to stall.

The global popularity of the Volkswagen T-Series range of vans continues to surge with sales climbing a further 5% in August.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has just confirmed delivery numbers for August and while the commercial vehicle arm of VW delivered 285,000 urban delivery vans, transport vehicles and pickups in the month, overall across the first eight months of the year sales have dipped 0.8%.

With sales declining 5% for the Volkswagen Caddy and 3.4% for Volkswagen Amarok, the Volkswagen T-Series sales increase of 5% and a 2.8% jump in Volkswagen Caddy deliveries helped keep overall sales relatively neutral.

By model, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles shipped worldwide were:

  • 112,600 vehicles of the T-Series model range (107,700; +4.6 per cent)
  • 31,200 vehicles of the Crafter series (30,400; +2.8 per cent)
  • 92,200 vehicles of the Caddy model range (97,000; -5.0 per cent)
  • 48,800 vehicles of the Amarok series (50,500; -3.4 per cent)
