Volkswagen is hoping the new edition of the Volkswagen Transporter will attract more Australian van buyers to the model.
Arriving in dealerships now, the new 2016 Volkswagen Transporter is the sixth-generation of the Volkswagen van that dates back an amazing 65 years. Volkswagen Australia tell us that this new model is the best Transporter yet.
The biggest change introduced to the Volkswagen Transporter is a new 150kW diesel engine.
That new engine joins the existing 2.0 litre turbo-diesel unit that produces 103kW. Once again, Volkswagen will be offering the Transporter in two categories – commercial and passenger carriers, while there are two different wheelbases and three varied roof heights.
While for 2016, Volkswagen will include ABS, ESP and EDL as standard across the Volkswagen Transporter range, as well as a new infotainment system.
Pricing for the 2016 Volkswagen Transporter commercial starts from $36,990, the Multivan Comfortline starts from $49,990.
