Titan pick-up – Could we be about to see another U.S. built full-size pick-up truck in Australia?

Possibly, and this time the vehicle could be sold locally by a mainstream brand.

That’s something we haven’t seen since Ford Australia had access to a right-hand drive version of the F-Series thirty years ago.

This time it could be Nissan dealers that have a full-size U.S.-built pick-up with the local operation saying they are looking at getting the Titan pick-up into Australia.

Pictured above, the Titan is currently only being built in left-hand drive, however, speaking at the Australian launch of a new special edition Nissan Navara (details published soon), Nissan Australia boss Stephen Lester has told uteandvanguide.com.au that there is a local push to get the vehicle here.

“We would like to think that there would be a chance that we would see that vehicle here at some point.

“There is no question that within the Australian market that there is an opportunity to be exploited by bringing in a full-size truck into the market.

“We’ve got a great truck in the Titan, we’d like to think with the the right-hand drive configuration that this would meet not only the demands and expectations of consumers, but fulfill that aspirational element that exists within the ute segment.

“Be a brand halo, a brand shaper, so, we’re focused on helping build that business case and drive the change that is required to get it here,”

“Time will tell if that’s going to be feasible or not.”

We will keep you updated on developments around the Nissan Titan for Australia as any further details come to hand.
